DIY: macetero con caja de fruta

La temporada de las fresas llegó a su fin, y además de mucha vitamina C, me dejó unas cajitas de madera perfectas para decorar, ordenar, etc. Aprovechando lo que tenía por casa, me puse manos a la obra para realizar este clásico del mundo DIY. 
Strawberry season has finished, and besides a lot of vitamin C, it leaves me some wood boxes that are perfect to decorate, organize, etc. Using home material, I did this classic DIY.

Material:

• Caja de fruta (ésta es de fresas)/Fruit box
• Papel de lija/Sandpaper
• Pintura y brocha/Paint and brush
• Papel de regalo o similar/Wrapping paper
• Mezcla de cola y agua/Glue and water mix
• Pincel/Small brush

Elaboración:

1. Lijar la caja para eliminar irregularidades. Sand the box to remove irregularities.
2. Pintar con el color elegido (yo utilicé pintura que me sobró de una pared y le di dos manos). Dejar secar. Paint it with the chosen colour. Put it to dry.
3. Recorta los motivos que elijas del papel de regalo y vete pegándolos con una mezcla de cola y agua empapándolos tanto por debajo como por encima con la ayuda de un pincel. Deja secar. Cut the motives you want from the wrapping paper and stick them with the mix of glue and water, using a small brush. Put it to dry.
4. ¡Ya tienes tu caja decorada! Already you have your embellished box!

Yo la he utilizado para colocar plantas dentro, pero su uso tiene infinitas posibilidades. Por cierto, les presento a mi violeta, que nuevamente tiene flores.

I've used it to put some plants, but it has many possibilities of use. By the way, I introduce you my violet, it has flowers again!

Emulando a Carmen de Milowcost, he decidido hacer este ABC del verano. Que no es más que completar un abecedario con palabras que me recuerdan a mis veranos. ¡Vamos allá!

Podría explicar el por qué de cada palabra, pero entonces me alargaría demasiado y en verano es mejor disfrutar de estos momentos lejos del ordenador. Por ello, durante el mes de agosto publicaré solamente los lunes. 

I could explain the reason of every one of these words, but it takes long. In summer, it's better to enjoy these moments far away from computer. So that, during august, I'll publish only on mondays.

DIY: borsalino étnico

Este verano, quería comprar un sombrero nuevo, pero no es fácil encontrar un modelo que me quede bien. Así que opté por darle un cambio de look a mi borsalino de los años anteriores con una cinta bordada que me costó un euro el metro en el mercadillo de los domingos.
This summer, I would like to buy a new hat, but I don't look well with any model. So I decided to get a new look to my old borsalino hat. I bought this embroidered ribbon in the sunday market by only one euro/meter.

Material:

• Sombrero/Hat
• Cinta bordada étnica/Ethnic embroidered ribbon.
• Velcro, aguja e hilo o pegamento para tela/Velcro, needle and thread or fabric glue.

 Elaboración:

1. Medir la cantidad necesaria a colocar alrededor del sombrero/Take the measure of the ribbon to put around the hat.
2. Cortar esa medida y otra más pequeña para tapar la unión/Cut the measure and other shorter to cover the union.
3. Coser, pegar o colocar con velcro. Puedes dejar la cinta que tenía debajo o retirarla/Sew it, glue it or put velcro. You can keep the old ribbon under the new or not.
4. ¡Ya tienes un nuevo sombrero!/Here you have a new hat!

Hoy les hablo de uno de esos productos que me sorprenden. Compré estas toallitas desmaquillantes porque necesitaba unas para un curso de automaquillaje y elegí las más baratas del supermercado. 
Today, I talk you about one of these products that surprises me. I bought these make up remover tissues because I need them for a self-make-up lesson and I chose the cheapest of the supermarket.

Desmaquillan bien, tienen un aroma agradable, no pican en los ojos (muy importante para mi) y son baratas (1,50 euros aprox.)
They cleans up well, smells good, doesn't sting the eyes (very important to me) and are cheap. (1,50 euros aprox.)

Share in Style: White

Aquí estamos otra vez con un nuevo "Share in Style". Esta vez, el tema es el color blanco. Para esta ocasión he elegido los mismos pantalones blancos que llevé cuando compartimos el tema "Gold" y una camiseta pintada a mano por mi. De esta forma, enseño mi "obra de arte" sobre un "lienzo en blanco". Los complementos son bastante antiguos.

Here we are again with a new "Share in Style". This time, theme is white colour. For this occasion, I have chosen the same white pants I wore when we shared "Gold" theme and a hand-painted t-shirt made by me. That's the way of showing my "work of art" on a "white canvas". The accessories are quite old.

DIY 2X1: coronas de flores

Hoy es día de manualidades y traigo un 2X1, para aquellas personas que quieren probar pero no gastar mucho en coronas de flores. El primer tipo es una diadema con grandes flores, no apta para tímidas. El segundo tipo una corona más discreta, ideal para niñas. Las flores se consiguen en cualquier tienda tipo todo a 100 o en nuestros amigos los chinos por 1 euro.
Today is a 2X1 DIY day, for people who likes floral crowns and who don't want to spend so much on them. First type is a big flowers hair band, not good for shy girls. The second type is a crown, soberer, perfect for little girls. The flowers can be bought in many shops as chinese shops by only 1 euro.

Tipo 1: Diadema/Hair band

Material:

• Flores de plástico/Plastic flowers.
• Diadema/Hair band.
• Pegamento fuerte/Strong glue.

Elaboración:

1. Separar las flores de sus tallos/Separate the flowers from their stems.
2. Aplicar pegamento en la diadema y pegar las flores/Put some drops of glue in the hair band and stick the flowers.
3. ¡Ya tienes tu diadema de flores!/Here is your floral hair band!

Tipo 2: Corona/Crown

Material:

• Alambre/Wire.
• Alicates/Pliers.
• Flores pequeñas de plástico/Small plastic flowers.
• Cinta floral verde (en tiendas de manualidades)/Green floral tape (in crafts shops).

Elaboración:

1. Tomar la medida necesaria de alambre y cortar con unos alicates/Take the necessary measure of wire and cut it whit pliers.
2. Separar pequeñas flores e ir pegándolas colocando la cinta floral alrededor de los tallos/Separate small flowers and glue them with the floral tape around the stems.
3. ¡Ya tienes tu corona de flores!/Here is your floral crown!

Me encanta el aire boho-chic que desprenden estas coronas. En cualquier caso las de flores naturales son mucho más bonitas. Y tú, ¿tienes alguna comprada o hecha por ti?
